Hot Green raise £1.2m to build ultra-efficient industrial heat pumps

London, 16th October 2025: Today, Hot Green Solutions, a UK-based clean-heat startup developing ultra-efficient industrial heat pumps, announced the close of it’s £1.2m pre-seed round, led by Empirical Ventures, with participation from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), First Imagine! Ventures, The Conduit Impact Fund, and Almanac Ventures.

Founded by Georgia Ware and Andrew Anderson in 2024, Hot Green Solutions are re-engineering heat pumps to give industry low-carbon competitively-priced options. The funding will accelerate the development and pilot deployment of Hot Green’s technology, designed to replace gas boilers in food, beverage, and industrial manufacturing facilities with low-carbon, electrified systems.

Industrial process heat is responsible for nearly 20% of global CO₂ emissions, yet remains among the hardest sectors to decarbonise. Hot Green’s system provides a drop-in replacement for fossil-fuel boilers, with the potential to achieve up to 50% energy savings by recovering and upgrading waste heat, while reducing operational costs and avoiding disruptive plant redesigns.

Despite rising energy bills and its substantial carbon footprint, industrial heat has seen little innovation. It’s the elephant in the climate-tech room.” said Georgia Ware, CEO and Co-Founder of Hot Green. “Our isothermal compressor technology delivers a leading heat pump solution with clear cost and operational benefits for sectors struggling with energy costs and emissions. This funding milestone is a significant step toward our mission to help industrial plants save cost while cutting carbon.

Sashidar Rajendra, Associate Director, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Ventures said: “We see real impact potential in HotGreen Solutions’ approach to decarbonisation – which aligns with our own sustainability ambitions. We’re excited to trial their technology in our operations and see how their innovation can help accelerate us towards our 2040 net zero targets

Dr Johnathan Matlock, Co-Founder and GP of Empirical Ventures, said: “Industrial heat is one of the largest untapped levers in global decarbonisation. We led this round because HotGreen’s first-principles engineering and validated compressor architecture offer a credible path to profitable electrification. This technology combines high efficiency with strong unit economics, the kind of evidence-backed innovation Empirical Ventures was built to back.”

With early engagement from major food and beverage manufacturers and a strategic partnership with Coca Cola, we believe Hot Green is well positioned to lead the next wave of industrial heat electrification.

Congratulations to Georgia, Andrew and team on this milestone. We’re excited to see your technology progress and see heat pumps adopted in industry.
